Mitigation Tool Libraries Are  Now Open

There is now a mitigation tool library in both the Lower and Upper Canyon. If you want to mitigate your property, here is a list of Husqvarna-branded battery-operated tools (unless otherwise noted) available for checkout.

Would you be interested in having your property assessed for ways to harden your home from wildfires?

Poudre Canyon Wildfire Community Alliance is a program affiliated with Larimer County that conducts Wildfire Mitigation Assessments of properties within the Poudre Canyon Fire Protection District. This program benefits both property owners and the fire district.

This program will help the fire district meet the objectives set out in its Community Wildfire Protection Plan. It helps the district determine which grants to apply for that will benefit residents. It also provides a way for us to educate property owners on home ignition zone concepts and mitigation work to establish or improve defensible space.

Property owners will be provided with a detailed report, at no charge, on their wildfire risk assessment and ways they can reduce their risk. They will also learn what mitigation resources are available, what matching funds are present, and what tax credits are available for mitigation work. Grant Funds  Are Available for Mitigation

PCFPD is one of four agencies participating in a $9.7 million grant called the Red Feather Lakes Area Wildfire Defense Project. This project will help landowners and communities with their mitigation efforts in Crystal Lakes, Glacier View, Poudre Canyon, and Cherokee Meadows.
